Southern Perspectives, Reid Technology

Raoul Island is New Zealand’s northern most territory. Due to its extremely remote location the Department of Conservation facility on the Island relied on fuel delivered by Naval Vessel and landed by helicopter twice year.

Shay Brazier while consulting as Southern Perspectives worked with DOC to determine the feasibility and specify the PV battery system.

Reid Technology were chosen as the system integrator and successfully implemented the system in 2012.

The site’s electricity is now almost 100% supplied from energy generated by the photovoltaic system.
