Re/volve Energy collaborated with a diverse multi disciplinary team to develop Te Kopua, our vision of a Zero Carbon urban mixed use development for The Alderman Carpark in Henderson.
The concept demonstrates an environmentally, socially resilient and sustainable community, designed in partnership with local iwi, with inter-generational outcomes that increase the health, well-being and housing opportunities for people connected to the area.
Through the design features including:
- efficient building form & thermal envelope
- a micro-grid incorporating onsite PV generation and energy storage distributing energy
- efficient centralised hot water production
- low carbon material selections and construction techniques,
the buildings are expected to be zero carbon, realise a total reduction in lifetime carbon emissions of 97% when compared with a standard development in New Zealand of similar scale and density.
