SITE LOCATION: Rarotonga International Airport, Cook Islands

INSTALLED: 960 kWp grid connected PV plant

TEAM: Southern Perspectives

Many counties in the Pacific are reliant on imported diesel to operate their power generation plant. The 960 kWp PV array located at the Rarotongan Airport was a significant step for the Cook Islands in the transition to 100% renewable electricity generation.

The NZAid funded project was the outcome of a program of works to identify suitable sites on Rarotonga.

Shay while running southern perspectives was engaged to complete the PV site assessments and develop the concept design and the technical specification for tender.
